Day 324: Snow

One of the only good things about the snow being around is the colour it turns when the sun is setting. The darker colour of the sky reflects onto the snow to make most of it a cold, blue tone and where the sun hits it is a nice warm orange tone. Warm and cool colours in a photo is one of my favourite types of contrast to see and to create. For this image, I waited until the sun had almost completely disappeared, so most of the photo would be in shadow, with just a few orange highlights to bring some interest into the frame and to make the texture in the snow stand out.
